Charlie Wilson songs list with album name, check songs written by the American R&B singer-songwriter. Charlier Wilson, also known as “Uncle Charlie,” is a former member of the group The Gap Band. He was born on January 29, 1953, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Charlie Wilson gained fame as the lead vocalist of The Gap Band, a funk and R&B group formed with his brothers Ronnie and Robert Wilson. The Gap Band achieved success in the 1970s and 1980s with hits such as “Outstanding,” “You Dropped a Bomb on Me,” and “Yearning for Your Love.”
After the disbandment of The Gap Band in the late 1980s, Charlie Wilson embarked on a solo career. He released his debut solo album, “You Turn My Life Around,” in 1992. However, it was his second solo album, “Charlie, Last Name Wilson,” released in 2005, that marked a successful comeback for him. The album spawned the hit singles “Charlie, Last Name Wilson” and “Magic,” which helped reestablish his presence in the R&B music scene.
Since then, Charlie Wilson has continued to release successful albums, including “Forever Charlie” (2015), “Just Charlie” (2010), “Love, Charlie” (2013), and “In It to Win It” (2017). He has collaborated with various artists, such as Snoop Dogg, T.I., and Bruno Mars.
